Meet Valentine & Elizabeth

If you go directly back four generations in your family tree, those folks are your great, great, grandparents. Valentine and Elizabeth are my gg grandparents - in a continuous lineage line. Everyone has sixteen gg grandparents, but only two are in a straight line of male descendants holding your family’s last name. Valentine and Elizabeth beget seven sons - Andrew, Michael, David, James, Henry, John, and Felix. All served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Their service included engagements in the battle of Shiloh (TN) and the sieges of Vicksburg (VA) and Atlanta (GA). My grandchildren represent (from this portion of our lineage), twelve consecutive family generations who have lived their lives on American soil.
